Shangrila Lake is also called lower Kachura Lake. Shangrilla Lake is located at a drive of approximately 20 minutes from Skardu

It is an excellent vacation spot in Skardu with an elevation of 2500 meters. This location is also called “the Roof of the world” as it is placed at some of the heightened peaks.

Skardu Fort

Skardu Fort is also known as ‘Kharpocho’, which means the ‘King of Forts’ in the local language. The fort dates back to the sixteenth century when it was constructed on the orders of King Sher Ali Khan Anchan, the former ruler of the region.

It takes about an hour and a half to drive from the famous Baltistan city of Skardu. The valley is nearly 8,800 feet above sea level. It is about 45 kilometers away from Gilgit-Baltistan Skardu.

Weather of Skardu Valley

Due to the cold, semi-arid climate, Skardu is one of the coldest valleys in Pakistan. Even in the summer, Skardu’s climate is still mild, with an average temperature of about 28 degrees Celsius during the peak season.
