Shangrila Lake is also called lower Kachura Lake. Shangrilla Lake is located at a drive of approximately 20 minutes from Skardu

Skardu Fort

Skardu Fort is also known as ‘Kharpocho’, which means the ‘King of Forts’ in the local language. The fort dates back to the sixteenth century when it was constructed on the orders of King Sher Ali Khan Anchan, the former ruler of the region.

The fort was purposely constructed on the top of a mountain to protect the region from any potential external threats. It was to keep an eye on the route of entering and leaving the valley.
